Terraria: Minecraft in 2D

I recently got this game as a gift from my friend for my birthday, at first I thought, "well cool... Terraria." Then I started to play it and realized that even though it was a 2D sidescroller it was really entertaining.

I recommend playing this with friends though, as playing it by yourself can get really boring/daunting. But being me, I always make a server for these kinds of games because between me and my friends, I have the best computer specs, which gives me an idea, maybe I'll type up a quick guide on how to port forward...

Terraria is mainly you digging for treasure, which is all good with me, because my friends and I are all motivated by hidden treasure that makes you more powerful. So we dug, and dug, and dug. Now digging in Terraria is complex, you have to make vertical tunnels, horizontal tunnels, blast tunneling, circumventing water, getting by that lava that always seems to seep in, and not getting thrown around by enemies that constantly spawn around you. After digging down for so long, we had found ourselves in the Underworld, which is mainly comprised of lava and demons, although there are those damn pesky fire imps just waiting to give you third degree burns with their little fireballs that go through blocks. We are still exploring the Underworld and I would love to explore it more, but really, I can't go down there without a buddy, because I would easily die down there and have no way to retrieve my items since one of my friends *glare* convinced me to make a mediumcore character, which makes you drop all your items when you die.

Right now, I'd say I'm the second best character in my group of friends since my friend ahead of me has max stats for about everything and has played the game for much much longer than I have and might have given me a slightly higher set of items before my friends had them. :D
