CS:Global Offensive

Coming out later this year, CS:GO will be the sequel to the most addicting, but annoyingly inaccurate FPS of all time... Counter Strike.

Look at him rockin' that AWP

Building upon cliche action movies that involve super soldier's running around shooting from the hip. CS:GO offers just that as you run around the map firing like you just came back from watching the full series of Rambo movies back to back.

If you've ever played CS:S then you remember Gungame. Well, what they are doing in CS:GO is making that an official gamemode. I like that they are taking mods from a game and making them standard, as most game companies are super strict with their games and don't allow any changes, but wonder why their games suck so bad. Valve has a great track record of letting people who make mods become employees of their company. This was actually how Counter-Strike was originally made, as it was a community mod that went viral and Valve wanted to support it. Now it's one of the top games in the world and millions of people have played it.

There are going to be some new and interesting weapons in the new CS like Molotov Cocktails. These will cover an area in fire and basically deny the opposing team access to that part of the map. This can be used to block of flanking areas or chokepoints and will eventually burn the enemy to death if they cross over it.

I think CS:GO looks a bit more cartoonish than CS:S and  might be a little less fun, but I think the game will still be amazing and gain a lot of players just like the previous games. The Counter Strike franchise always has been the leader of multiplayer FPS games and will continue to be that leader for a long time.

Men of War: Assault Squad

Every so often I try to play a demo from Steam, this can really be any demo that interests me, and this time around I picked Men of War: Assault Squad.

So what makes this game unique from normal WW2 RTS's is that you can control an individual unit and basically increase it's effectiveness by like... a billion percent. It's really fun to do this and I find myself replaying the same mission so many times because each playthrough you can choose a different soldier, and different ones have different kits, like sniper, machine gunner, soldier, medic, etc. The possibilities are endless as it takes skill and cunning to get through most situations.

Boom headshot
Although I do have one bone to pick, it always seems like your units are completely stupid compared to the enemies soldier's AI. You think that your guys would be much better on easy mode, but apparently that doesn't seem to be the case.

The terrain usage in Men of War is great, as you can almost always find cover, unless you are in the middle of a field, in that case you can just go prone and order one of your men to build sandbag walls. It can sometimes get a little hard to move to cover on strategic points, as there are move orders and attack orders on the point.

Pantheon: Death from Above

You start to run away, but it's too late, the plane (or should I say Pantheon,) has already landed. He jumps on top of you, throwing his spear and beating the S#!7 out of you. Well that's probably not the best moment in your character's short, embarrassing existence. But you are already down 10 deaths and Pantheon just got his thirteenth kill, with no deaths at all. Well that's just Pantheon, or should I say... Mantheon.

The epitome of manliness
Pantheon
The Artisan of War
ie. The Manly Manly Man

Pantheon can be played anywhere really, but he shines the most as solo-top. Nothing beats taking two unmanly laners on at a time and ending your game with double digit kills and no deaths. The truth about how to play Pantheon is that you only want to buy manly items. So first, I start out with the Manly Vampiric Scepter. This helps my sustain up top so I don't have to go back to base very often, as that would be unmanly. Then you want to build the Manly Mehrunes Razor, or if you are being very manly you could just buy the Manly Wriggles Lantern without building your Manly Mehrunes Razor first. Now, what I suggest getting after that are the Manly Ionian Boots of Lucidity. These boots will help you be much more manlier even faster than before. Next in line is the Manly Hexdrinker. This was almost made for AD Caster's like yourself. Now, you'll want to turn this item into a Manly Maw of Malmortious. This item WAS made for AD Caster's like yourself. But it seems you are the only one manly enough to use it effectively at this time. But that was a given. Now you'll want to go and buy a Manly Last Whisper. This item will make your manliness even more effective than before and your enemies will run away in fear as you slice and dice them apart mercilessly. Now after this you probably have ten or so kills, right? Good. Now if they haven't given up already then I would buy a Manly Infinity Edge to make your finishing strikes even more manly. Still not done yet? Well that's a shame, maybe they just wanted more time to bask in your manliness. Or you were too happy killing them that you didn't realize they had a nexus. These are the only reasons why the game should last this long. Any other reasons would threaten your manliness, and that would be impossible.

Spear Shot

Get this as soon as you get into the game, it's extremely useful for farming under pressure and paired with the passive for his Heartseeker Strike you can easily take a champion down health-wise with little to no effort.

Aegis of Zeonia

The most annoying spell for the enemy team in respect to Pantheon. You basically get a stun every ten seconds. This helps you fight off all of the unmanly men that try and gank you, as you can use this to tactically withdraw from the battle with your manliness intact. Later in levels you will use this right after you land from Grand Skyfall and to get those pesky cowards that run away from your manliness.

Heartseeker Strike

Hah, and you thought that Pantheon was already manly enough. Well now he has a skill that does 3 attacks in front of him in a cone that effects more than one enemy. The passive for this skill ensures that those cowardly girly men will die quickly when they run.

Grand Skyfall

Pantheon activates his rocket boosters in his sandals that are fueled by his manliness. He then jets across the map until he reaches his target destination and drops down at amazing speed. Ramming into the ground causing tremors that hurt everyone around him. He then has a few options. Those options consist of throwing spears after his cowardly unmanly enemies that are currently running away, or leaping on top of the nearest one, instantly causing him to frown, as he doesn't have enough time to cry before Pantheon finishes him.

I've gone double digit kills to 0 deaths in many games that I've played as Pantheon. This is because once he gets going there is no stopping him. He just keeps beating people with his kit until they all want to surrender.

Yorick: You are dead, no big surprise...

Bursting from the bushes, Yorick pops all of his ghouls on top of you, causing you to instantly lose half health and losing the ability to run away. Well shoot, it looks like you're dead. Maybe you should have used your head this time and not have fallen for the same trick that got you the last four times...

Yorick
The Grave Digger

Early game is all about the armor pen. When I say that I mean I want you to get a Brutalizer and not that silly Wriggles Lantern. What Yorick wants and needs the most is armor pen, since he already has sustain from his ghouls and damage from every single one of his very powerful spells. A successful Yorick can either go bot lane support, and be weak until the late game, or go solo top and be a powerhouse of destruction. Of course, there are some drawbacks of being a solo top Yorick, such as the fact you can't help your teammates much as usually you are down on CS which forces you to stay in your lane. But the pros of being solo top are that anyone who comes up there to try and gank you is in for a death filled surprise, as top lane is your house now and everybody is gunna respect yo house, or die...

Now what I usually make after my Brutalizer is a pair of Ionian Boots of Lucidity, as they reduce my cooldowns by 15% and that helps me push out my ghouls a lot quicker, and more ghouls = more lifesteal and damage. So it's all good in the end. After that I start building a Warmogs and an Atmas, but right now I'm thinking it might be better to build an Atmas first and then the Warmogs, as you need as much damage as possible. After that you're usually in late game, which is where you and your AD carry shine as a team composition. I'll tell you more about this in the skill section. But what you want after your Atmogs is a Last Whisper, as getting your own damage in is imperative to playing Yorick. Then after this I suggest either getting an Infinity Edge or a Guardian Angel, these picks are mostly situational, as you won't need a Guardian Angel if you are owning the enemy team, so just stack as much damage as you possibly can and be the best. Good Luck.

Omen of War

Very good for beating your enemies to death, as you gain a pretty big AD boost with it, plus you go faster and your ghoul does tons of damage. Very good for chasing and beating people to death, great skill.

Omen of Pestilence

When you use this skill anyone who is in the small radius of this spell gets slowed by quite a bit and then the ghoul that pops out there slows people by an extra amount each time he hits them. It's great to use on a weakened player that might be overextending himself. You'll get pretty easy kills with this spell and it sets you up for your burst of spells which makes it the best spell to initiate with on Yorick.

Omen of Famine

This is your bread and butter, your base spell, the spell you ALWAYS want to get at level 1. This spell is your sustain and without it you are most likely dead. I try to max this skill out the first as it can give back a HUGE amount of HP.

Omen of Death

You read that I was going to explain why you are your AD Carry's best friend and vice versa, right?
Well, this spell is why. It's basically a clone spell that makes a clone of whoever you choose, now you can see why it's good with AD Carry's, eh? I'll tell you a quick story about this spell.

I was in a game with an AD Sion and it lasted pretty long. As anyone who has encountered Sion has noticed that he basically gains 1 AD per kill on anything. So by late game, our Sion had about 500 AD. This was great for us because he could hyper carry. But the enemy team started to notice and focused him a lot. Now being the cool dude that I am, I realized that if I cloned him, then we would do tons of damage. This also helped against the focusing (somewhat), as if the person you cloned dies during the spell, they get to control the clone. This means they might be able to take down one hyper carry, but the second one, the clone, is about to chop them all into little itty bitty pieces.

The Horrible Ending(s) of Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 was phenomenal, not only was it entertaining to play as a third person shooter, it had the most interesting and immersive storyline since... Mass Effect 2.    D:

But there is one thing that stuck out from the last game in the Mass Effect trilogy that just ruined it for me. As you might have noticed from the title, it was the ending. The ending was terrible for the kind of game people wanted Mass Effect 3 to be. No matter what you do, you cannot survive the ending. There is just no way. Plus, the endings for the prior games were extremely dependent on how well you actually did. Now, there are only THREE good endings. These are all the same no matter how well you did. Even if you got the highest of all scores that would have gotten you the best, most perfect ending in ME1 or ME2, you would be forced to pick three still crappy but "good" endings. The same things still happening in each ending, just in different colors as well.

TF2 Highlander

Well, apparently I play a very good Spy, and apparently people have noticed, and apparently I'm on a competitive team now in TF2. This is pretty cool because I never thought I'd be playing TF2 competitively. Actually, I never thought people played TF2 competitively before now. Here's a brief overview of what this Highlander Tournament is going to be like.

A Highlander team consists of nine people, each one a different class in TF2, I have been chosen to play the Spy for my gaming community's team. The eight other people will be playing as the Medic, the Engineer, the Heavy, the Soldier, the Scout, the Sniper, the Demoman, and the Pyro. In the season we will be playing in there should be around fifteen matches to compete in. The maps we play will all be different to bring variety and fairness, as people most of the time can play and dominate only on one specific map. But now the team who can play well across all of the maps will generally win the tournament or at least do really well.
