CS:Global Offensive

Coming out later this year, CS:GO will be the sequel to the most addicting, but annoyingly inaccurate FPS of all time... Counter Strike.

Look at him rockin' that AWP

Building upon cliche action movies that involve super soldier's running around shooting from the hip. CS:GO offers just that as you run around the map firing like you just came back from watching the full series of Rambo movies back to back.

If you've ever played CS:S then you remember Gungame. Well, what they are doing in CS:GO is making that an official gamemode. I like that they are taking mods from a game and making them standard, as most game companies are super strict with their games and don't allow any changes, but wonder why their games suck so bad. Valve has a great track record of letting people who make mods become employees of their company. This was actually how Counter-Strike was originally made, as it was a community mod that went viral and Valve wanted to support it. Now it's one of the top games in the world and millions of people have played it.

There are going to be some new and interesting weapons in the new CS like Molotov Cocktails. These will cover an area in fire and basically deny the opposing team access to that part of the map. This can be used to block of flanking areas or chokepoints and will eventually burn the enemy to death if they cross over it.

I think CS:GO looks a bit more cartoonish than CS:S and  might be a little less fun, but I think the game will still be amazing and gain a lot of players just like the previous games. The Counter Strike franchise always has been the leader of multiplayer FPS games and will continue to be that leader for a long time.
